Tailored Japanese Support (Live + Async)
I offer a few different ways to work with me, depending on your goals, schedule, and budget. Everything is designed around real‑life Japanese: natural expressions, listening, and speaking you can actually use.
1. Weekly paid lesson (Substack subscription)
My core offering is a weekly Japanese lesson here on Substack.
As a paid subscriber, you get:
~ A new lesson every week (audio + transcript + vocabulary/notes)
~ Access to the archive of past paid lessons
~ Practical language you can use in conversation, travel, work, or daily life
This is ideal if you:
- Want structured, ongoing input
- Like learning through lessons you can revisit
- Are comfortable practising on your own between lessons

2. Async speaking feedback (no live calls)
If live lessons don’t fit your schedule (or you just prefer flexible practice), I offer async speaking feedback.
How it works:
- You receive speaking tasks (e.g. “Describe your last trip,” “Explain your job,” “React to a short news clip”).
- You record yourself (1–2 minutes) and send the audio to me.
- I reply with:
- A voice message with detailed feedback
- Written corrections and natural phrases
- Optional model answers (my own recording)
You can do this from any time zone, on your own schedule. I usually reply within 48 hours on weekdays.
Packages:
- 4 tasks – $50
- 8 tasks – $95 (save $5 compared to buying two 4‑task packs)
This is ideal if you:
~ Live in a time zone that makes live lessons difficult
~ Want focused feedback on your speaking and pronunciation
~ Prefer flexible practice instead of fixed appointment times

After you purchase, I will contact you within 24 hours at the email you provided with:
- Instructions on how to send your recordings
- Your first speaking tasks (exciting!)
- Details on how we will communicate
3. Live 1:1 lessons (limited spots)
I also offer a small number of live 1:1 Japanese lessons for learners who want regular, tailored conversation practice.
Lessons are:
~ Fully tailored to your goals (conversation, travel, work, anime, etc.)
~ Discussion‑based, with a focus on natural, usable Japanese
~ Available as monthly packages (e.g. 4 or 8 lessons per month)
Because of my schedule and time zone, live lessons are limited and offered only when I have availability.
Current rate: $30 / hour (sold in monthly packages)
Availability: Monday & Friday, between 10:00 and 16:00 Japan Time
