Welcome to Japanese with Yoshie!
Hi! My name is Yoshie, and I’m a certified Japanese language tutor, translator, and content creator. I’ve taught over 4,000 online lessons to students from all around the world.
Japanese with Yoshie is a welcoming space where I teach grammar and expressions, share tips to help you improve your Japanese, and explore Japanese culture and its nuances. There’s so much to discover—let’s learn together! ☺︎
I love learning languages, too!
I’ve always loved learning languages and connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Since I started teaching Japanese, I’ve been fortunate to meet so many wonderful students, some of whom have also become dear friends. These experiences have fuelled my passion for language learning and teaching.
I hope to be more than just a teacher. I would like to be a friend and support you on your language-learning journey. As a long-time language learner myself, I understand the struggles and frustrations that come with learning a language. But you are not alone—I’m here to listen and help!
Where you can find me
I love creating learning content for you on this website and on social media, and I hope you find it helpful! If you have any requests or suggestions, feel free to reach out.
I currently offer weekly podcast lessons on Substack, packed with authentic audio recorded by me, a full and accurate transcript, a nuanced English translation, a vocabulary list, and comprehension quizzes. These lessons are aimed at upper-intermediate to advanced learners who want to move beyond being an “advanced speaker” and become a more natural communicator, while breaking through those language plateaus.
If that sounds useful to you, please have a look and consider signing up for a paid subscription for full access.
I am also on Instagram and YouTube!
A Little More About Me…
I was born and raised in Yamanashi Prefecture, with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. I studied classical music and piano performance at university before moving to England to earn my MA in Arts Administration. Music has always been a big part of my life.
Between 2017 and 2018, I lived in France, where I began teaching Japanese online. Working remotely, using my language and administrative skills, and meeting people who were passionate about Japan was something I really enjoyed, and I wanted to continue doing it.
Since then, I’ve been teaching this beautiful yet complex language and connecting with learners from all over the world!
If you have any questions or simply want to say hi, feel free to message me at in**@****************ie.com. I would love to hear from you!
Thank you for being here.
